Show notes
Nick and Doug have a fascinating chat with the author community's go-to authority on contracts and agreements, Maggie Marr, who is also a USA Today bestselling author. They discuss where and when contracts become necessary and some of the legal dos and don'ts about what it is okay to include in your manuscript, and much more.

I recommend for the author to not engage with the email user and encourage them to also inform the FBI if they feel comfortable doing so. Here are two ways they can report it:
- Email a report (along with any original scam emails as attachments) to: AuthorFraud@fbi.gov
- File a report on the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at https://www.ic3.gov/
